IAMX aka Chris Corner started his solo music career in 2004 after leaving the electronic formation Sneaker Pimps. He became known right away with the first album Kiss + Swallow and with the subsequent The Alternative, which confirmed that his musical abilities extend far beyond the boundaries of individual genres.
In February, he released his eighth album, which is called Alive In New Light. The album celebrates breaking free from the demons that have plagued Corner for so long. These are the depressions he dealt with on the previous two albums Metanoia (2015) and Unfall (2017). The record captures this dizzying transformation at a stage where "you're not who you used to be, but you're not quite who you're going to be in the end either." The next musical chapter was the albums Echo Echo (2020) and Machinate (2021), in which the singer confesses about anxiety and depression caused by the coronavirus lockdown.
