A personality who provokes Polish society with his views. Maria Peszek, a convinced atheist and activist for minorities, is going to Brno on May 13 with her latest album Ave Maria (2021). The record, created during the pandemic months, criticizes the role of women in Polish society and the abuse of children by Catholic priests, last year it climbed to the top of the Polish charts. Maria Peszek's music mixes elements of rock and punk, and her performance does not deny a significant acting talent.
Maria Peszek (1973) was born in Wrocław into an acting family, her father is the well-known Polish actor Jan Peszek. In the 1980s and 1990s, she appeared in minor television and theater roles, and in 2005 she made her debut with the album Miesto Mania, which quickly made her a star. Four more studio records followed, Maria also starred in films by Agnieszka Holland or Jerzy Stuhr.
