Dances in the gardens

22/06/22, 19:00

The concert, full of world and Czech premieres, follows on from the series of open-air projects launched last year, this time in the atrium of the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University at Arne Novák. The program is lined with world premieres of two dance suites - while the four-part Czech Suite was composed by Ondřej Šárek, the Scottish one called the Scottish Serenade comes from the pen of Filip Holacký, who lives in Edinburgh. The third world premiere is the short composition Seconda prattica IV for the strings of this year's jubilant Miloš Štědroně. The Czech premiere will feature an ethereal Concerto for bassoon and marimba strings by Canadian composer Marjan Mozetich. Pavel Horák (bassoon) and Martin Švec (marimba) will perform as soloists, and everything will take place under the baton of Patrik Červák, who will be in front of the diverse orchestra for the first time.
