Bohuslav Martinů: 3 madrigals for violin and viola H. 313
Antonín Dvořák: String Quintet No. 3, Op. 97
This year's residential artist Pavel Fischer will fulfill one of his artistic dreams at festival concerts: to play songs that have been his heart's desire for years, with friends and colleagues whom he respects as top musicians and performers. The theme "On the Way from the Roots to the Future" could not have made him feel better in this respect: Dvořák's String Quintet with two violas in E flat major, Op. 97 draws inspiration in folk music, ie in the "roots" of almost all music. It will be complemented by Bohuslav Martinů's Madrigals, a virtuoso duo for violin and viola, which is one of Fischer's most popular chamber compositions ever. The invitation to this project was accepted by the charismatic Flemish violist Diede Verpoest, who will perform in the Czech Republic for the first time, the great Austrian cellist Erich Oskar Hütter, the star of the emerging Czech violin generation Markéta Janoušková and the excellent violist and sought-after chamber musician Martin Stupka.
