Music Marathon Brno 2022 I Antikvartet Dušana Vančury & Ivo Jahelka

The music legend Dušan Vančura's band Antiquartet will visit the Brno Music Marathon. The group was founded in 1962, but its activities soon ceased and came back to life in 2013. The group has two CDs to its credit and currently features Zuzana Vančurová, Magdaléna Jungwirthová, Tomáš Vávra and Jiří Mašek. The repertoire is diverse in genres, ranging from classic four-part choral literature to spirituals and folk songs to contemporary compositions by Dušan Vančura. He was also a long-time member of the Spiritual quintet, but above all a lyricist. Among his well-known compositions are "Kocábka", "Battalion", "Žížeň", "Putník a dívka". He wrote for Spiritualál, the Nedvěda brothers, Hradišťan and Maria Rottrava. The guest of the concert will be the well-known "singing lawyer" Ivo Jahelka.
