Lukáš Hurtík studied the organ with Ester Moravetzová and the piano with Zdenek Mucha at the P.J. Vejvanovský Conservatory in Kroměříž. He continued playing the organ at the Faculty of Music of the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts in Brno with Kamila Klugarová. He also studied the organ at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart, Germany, with the leading concert organist and composer prof. Jürgen Essl. His further professional education also includes both active and passive participation in master classes led by renowned artists (e.g. Jon Laukvik, Ludger Lohmann, Bernhard Haas, Ton Koopman, Michael Radulescu and others). Lukáš Hurtík gives concerts in the Czech Republic and Slovakia (e.g. Leoš Janáček International Music Festival, Slovak Historical Organs) and has also performed at festivals in neighboring Germany and Poland. He has collaborated with the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra, the Ensemble Opera Diversa Orchestra, the Bohuslav Martinů Chamber Orchestra, the Janáček Chamber Orchestra, Czech Radio and the National Theater in Brno. He works as a chamber player and accompanist for soloists. Since 2012, he has been working as an organ teacher at the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava. In cooperation with the Department of Church Music, the Bratislava Conservatory organizes the international organ festival Journey to Organ Gems, for which interesting organs from various corners of the Czech Republic and Slovakia are selected.
