Brno Philharmonic
conductor Michel Tabachnik
During the break, we cordially invite you to a New Year's toast in the foyer.
The Brno Philharmonic was established as the Brno State Philharmonic on January 1, 1956, and on the same day it performed its first concert (although not yet under its name). Since then, he has been holding his New Year's concerts regularly (with the exception of 2021, when the concert was canceled due to the pandemic), symbolically not only welcoming the arrival of the new year, but also celebrating his birthday, which will be his 69th in 2025. In it, among other things, we will commemorate the bicentenary of the birth of the "king of waltzes" Johann Strauss the Younger. Not only with his music, we will step into a "Straussian" year under the baton of Michel Tabachnik, who has stood on the conductor's podium in front of the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra twice in the past and each time managed to move the orchestra to an energetic performance and the audience to enthusiastic applause.
