KANTILÉNA & BCO: ZEMEK NOVÁK, GRAHAM, EMMERT

04/04/24, 20:00

Some works were lucky enough not to have to wait long for their first performance. Some, on the other hand, waited so long that the composer didn't even have a chance to hear his child. Somewhere between the extreme points, perhaps approximately in the middle of this imaginary axis, are the compositions of Pavel Zemek Novák and Peter Graham, which you will hear in the world premiere during the evening. More than thirty years since their inception... Both were originally intended for liturgical performance on Holy Saturday, therefore they are based on the texts of the Easter vigil. The final Te Deum laudamus, an extraordinary work by František Emmert, fits perfectly into this purely domestic repertoire performed by the best domestic performers led by Kantiléna.
