On March 25, 2023, Petr Fiala celebrated his significant life anniversary, whom the general musical public knows primarily as the founder, chief choirmaster and director of the world-famous Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno, with whom the Brno Philharmonic often collaborates on the performance of large vocal-orchestral compositions at home and abroad . Of course, Petr Fiala is also a successful composer (in composition he was a student of Jan Kapr at JAMU), the author of two hundred compositions. It was proposed that the concert, with which the Brno Philharmonic pays an additional tribute to the jubilant, would emphasize Petr Fiala precisely as a composer. A Concerto for wind quintet and chamber orchestra was selected from his work, in which members of our ensemble will take the solo parts. Furthermore, the world premiere will feature a new piece written by Petr Fiala commissioned by the Brno Philharmonic; The tribute to Leoš Janáček reflects Fial's lifelong strong relationship as a composer and choirmaster to Janáček's music and expands the free cycle of new works inspired by Janáček, whose commissions to various authors the Brno Philharmonic (usually in cooperation with the Leoš Janáček Foundation) tries to enrich the "Janáček" concert repertoire.
