fairy tale musical, world premiere

King David had three sons. Jiří, Jakub and the youngest Jan. When the king fell ill, Queen Agnes remembered a strange dream from long ago about the existence of miraculous living water. The hopes and thoughts of the entire kingdom are now attached to her, and it is up to the young royals to gradually go out into the world and try to get living water and save the life of the dying king. And as is the case in good fairy tales, the path to a happy ending is complicated, full of adventures and pitfalls, and three cursed princesses cannot be missing.

In the season of the 20th anniversary of Hudební scéna, the domestic author couple Stanislav Moša and Zdenek Merta are returning to the stage with a new project, which this time is a story based on the best Czech fairy tale tradition. A magical adventure in a world where the good prince is helped by ants, a bear and an eagle, where three enchanted princesses, thanks to their purity, will help to detect falsehood and where the highest value is a kind and loving word, promises to be a magical spectacle for the whole family.

Prominent Czech music composer, pianist, but also presenter Zdenek Merta met for the ninth time with librettist Stanislav Moša, in this case, to continue their many years of collaboration, which started with the joint presentation of the musical fairy tale Midsummer Night's Dream in 1991. Their last work together so far, Pohádka about living water will be further confirmation that the Music Stage of the Brno Municipal Theater continues to present original titles written directly for it, as was announced from the beginning of its existence.
