a mystical musical

Edward Bloom is an ordinary man, but an extraordinary father. He always told his son Will stories of his life full of fantasy, beauty, love and adventure, stories filled with witches, giants, mermaids and heroic deeds that stretched beyond belief. Thus, from his stories, he built the myth of an immortal hero in the eyes of his son. However, the adult Will is no longer amused by his father's fantastic stories and insists on a rational, not fantastic, description of his life. When Edward's health deteriorates and Will learns that he and his wife Josephine are going to have a son of their own, Will decides to uncover his father's "true" life story once and for all to learn who his father really is…

Big Fish is a powerful and magical musical about the stories that define our identity. About how fantasy is important in human life and that inside moments of true love we can live forever, about the fact that we can discover magic even in the most ordinary moments of our lives.

The Broadway musical Big Fish is based on Daniel Wallace's 1998 novel Big Fish: A Novel of Mythic Proportions and Tim Burton's award-winning 2003 film Big Fish. the musical, which saw the light of the Broadway ramps at the Neil Simon Theater in 2013, is John August, who is also the author of the screenplay and is signed as a screenwriter for other Burton films, such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, 2005), Corpse Bride (2005) or Frankenweenie (2012). Catchy music and witty lyrics come from the pen of Andrew Lippa, who is also behind the music component of the musical The Addams Family.
