Along with Jaromír Honzák, double bass player Robert Balzar is one of the most important Czech jazz bassists, who can be included in the development line of the famous Czech bass school represented by world-renowned players such as George Mraz or Miroslav Vitouš.
The trio's music honors jazz principles, melodiousness and rhythmic precision. Balzar et al. follows the modern wave of world jazz, where the boundaries between pop, jazz and film music are blurred.
The phenomenal pianist Vít Křišťan and the great Brno drummer Kamil Slezák together with the unmistakable handwriting of Robert Balzar create the contemporary sound of three experienced musicians in one organic whole.
The trio also performs regularly with the excellent Czech singer Dan Bárta, with whom they released the album "Jedním dechem" last year, for which they have just received a nomination for the Anděl 2022 award.
The trio is currently preparing new material for the forthcoming album, which should be released in the spring of this year.
