HOTHOUSE
The five-member band was originally formed in Brno, but is currently developing its musical crossover on the border of post-punk, jazz avangard and no wave on the Prague stage. The unique sound is completed by a traditional guitar set consisting of guitar, bass, drums and trumpets in addition to the keyboards. In their often insane mix of styles, progressive rhythms and vocal declamation, they approach the current wave of New Weird Britain, led by bands like Black Midi and Black Country, New Road. In their work we find more lyrical moments and breaking down genre boundaries with hardcore songs.
IVY Z
The solo project of Lenka Zbořilová from dreampop Billow is hidden under the name of ivy. She made her debut in 2021 with the experimental recording Under a Red Moon, which was created during 16 weeks, when one song was written or finished every week. Songs inspired by slowcore, lo-fi folk or weird pop appear on the album, and Lenka also approaches live playing with a similar variety. He is currently working on his second album, which should be released later this year on the Ostrava label Korobushka records.
