DARK CLOCK (tenebrae), musical meditation in unique underground temples in Brno. This year's dark watch returns to a unifying theme. After the ensemble performance of Zelenka's lamentations and responsories or the responsories of Carlo Gesualdo da Venos, the end of Holy Week will be accompanied by his own chants, but in a completely unusual place and for the first time in a theatrical sense. In three days, each time in one of the three reservoirs, different stories will be heard and played out in different colorful forms of the Gregorian chant.
Jan Spálený
Jan Spálený
Music director, dramaturg, late-night radio storyteller - the father of the Czech blues was born on December 4, 1942 in Královské Vinohrady to very young musically inclined parents as the first-born. In childhood, he squealed on the violin miserably and unmotivated. After rocking through puberty, he discovered dixieland, the first gateway to the world of jazz, i.e. improvisation. Most of all, however, he met the beloved wind musical instrument for the rest of his life. After graduating from high school at the age of eleven, he worked as a digger at the yard party at the Rudý Letov factory. He studied at the Prague Conservatory from 1964 to 1968. He alternately played the trombone, tuba, and baritone saxophone, and began learning to play the cornet at the age of fifty-six. Over the years, he played Dixieland, rock and roll, rhythm and blues, he and his brother Petr had the bands Hipps and Apollobeat, he was a guest in pop bands and music that is mostly called serious. Since 1984, ASPM has lived and for ASPM. All his life he composes, writes texts, arranges, provokes...

Sign - Easter concert
The project brings together several artistic treatments of the zodiac signs. He has no ambition to glorify or critically evaluate astrology. Kósavá deka + Guest
The repertoire consists of melodies taken from American bluegrass and newgrass bands, but we also like to play classic country hits or songs from the repertoire of Czech rock and blues musicians. Since our English is not the most refined and we are closer to a Moravian cellar than to a prairie with blue grass, we use the Czech texts of our "court" lyricists Richard Málk, Richard Lukes, Petra Švecová and others for the English songs.

Joe Sanders‘ and Parallels James Brandon Lewis Trio
Since leaving the Midwest for California to attend the Brubeck Institute in 2002, double bassist Joe Sanders has been fortunate to perform and learn alongside some of jazz's greatest figures. And the great ride continued: Dave Brubeck, Christian McBride, Terence Blanchard, Ron Carter, Roy Hargrove, John Clayton, Charlie Haden, Herbie Hancock, Charles Lloyd or Wayne Shorter. A stunning gallery under just forty years of age. James Brandon Lewis, the son of a preacher, grew up in Buffalo in a de facto gospel church while listening to jazz titans at home thanks to his parents. This not only created a cultural foundation for him, on which he builds to this day, but it also led him to a musical environment at a young age, when he had the opportunity to meet - already as a beginning saxophonist building on the clarinet foundation, which he had been digging since the age of nine - with local artists, such as is free jazz saxophonist Charles Gayle and saxophonist Grover Washington Jr.
