The Witches of Eastwick
the return of the popular magical musical comedy
At the beginning of October, it will be 20 years since the opening of the Music Scene. The opinions of many naysayers, who claimed in 2004 that the Brno Municipal Theater would own an unused, useless building after a few seasons, seem to be mere smiling memories from today's perspective. Brno's musical scene has already permanently entered (not only) the Czech theater map, and new productions are added to the list of premieres listed here every year, whether they are premieres of original titles or performances of classic musicals. In connection with the celebrations of this anniversary, we decided to return to the musical, which many viewers still remember. Thanks to almost 150 reruns that have taken place since the premiere in 2007, under the name of The Witches of Eastwick, many people remember this production, which brought Petr Štěpán the prestigious Thalia Award for his portrayal of the demonic Darryl Van Horne, rather than the original book or film.

Amelie Siba | Čáry života
Amelie Siba is a musician and composer originally from Prague. Her latest album Gently Double A - released in April 2023 creates a collage of lo-fi samples, dirty guitars and layered angry vocals. In his latest projects, Siba opens up the topics of healing trauma, looking at oneself and anger. Although her previous work was known for a very intimate nature and has now moved into a more aggressive/assertive realm with a dirtier sound, vulnerability is still a major element of her work.
Cáry života "Slow and sad songs about love." This is how musician Jan Boroš, originally from Valašské Meziříčí, characterizes his new project. His home band is Fiordmoss, currently based in Berlin, who are preparing a new album for spring. Unlike their electronic baroque, however, Cáry života is more minimalistic, more intimate and, above all, more guitar-based and also with Czech lyrics. The debut album Stínítko won the 2018 Apollo award of the Czech music critics.

The Vacuum Ball
The Vacuum Ball band was formed in 2016 as an old-time trio of Bára Preisslerová (guitar, vocals), Vojta Noska (violin, vocals) and Zdenek Roha (banjo, vocals). During the following years and several changes in the cast, the current four-member line-up of the original trio crystallized together with bassist and singer Blanka Preisslerová. The band reworked their own folk and other hits into their sound, which they include under the name of the Americana style. You can hear from them what others don't play, the band's motto is clear: "Where there's a vacuum, we have a ball".
Občan Trhan | Napoli | Obyvatelé cihlového domu

Napoli
Suburban cowboys from Brno's Kraví hora presenting the sound of pines and the speech of the prairie of the 21st century to latent and conscious romantics. Western / big beat.
Obyvatelé cihlového domu
The residents of the brick house combine the sound of a classical piano with a punk, even metal-tuned rhythmic component and female vocals. Genre dispersion covers a wide range - from chanson tenderness, through jazz playfulness to punk urgency. OCD play both straightforward (and rather hard) burners and more complicated prog-rock songs, interspersed with frantic rhythmic changes. In the author's texts, written in Czech, the band focuses on stories of people from the fringes of society, horror themes, or fears about the end of civilization.

French esprit and Spanish passion are hidden in the music of Bizet's Carmen. Finally, who does not know the immortal opera hits - the famous Habanera or the aria of the toreador Escamillo. But what if there is something more hidden behind the story of love's flightiness?

Do you like flipping through the calendar? Do you ever dream while looking into it and imagine what happened on that day exactly 100, 150, 200... years ago? Do you enjoy anniversaries, preferably round ones, and holidays? We do, and accordingly we have also prepared a cycle of family concerts in the 2024/2025 season. We will remember important anniversaries of premieres of compositions, births of composers, musical events, as well as holidays and so on, which are linked to the respective period in which the concert is taking place. The main dramaturg (the one who chooses the compositions) is therefore time. And you will be a bit of one too, because we will give you the opportunity to choose one song for each concert - democratically, of course. Come create, listen and have fun with us.

On the way, we will come across a mysterious gate that each of us will be afraid to open.

The NEWMOUR Experience
Rock for dancing and dancing from A to Z.
Early Times
The band's name came from a desire to play traditional bluegrass. Slightly old-fashioned, a little raw, but mostly comfortable. Bluegrass from the days when Bill Monroe, the father of Western Hemisphere folk music, recruits guitarist Lester Flatt and phenomenal banjoist Earl Scruggs to his band Blue Grass Boys. Our band baby grew, developed and, with increasing experience, looked around the world of music. And it also included songs from later periods in its repertoire. For example, from the workshop of Dan Tyminski, Allison Krauss or Ricki Skaggs.

They joined forces with two other excellent musicians. Singer, composer, banjo player, steel guitar and double bass player Zbyňek Bureš, and guitarist, singer, owner of a captivating bass, Jan Janda. Dominic Miller
Guitarist Dominic Miller is a perfect example of a musician who, on the one hand, can easily move in the highest spheres of show business, and on the other hand, he has no problem performing in small clubs for a fraction of the audience he is used to from other stations. And not only do both types of those listeners welcome him with open arms, but they also largely intermingle.

This is where the name sepolcro comes from. CHORAL IN THE WATERS I: VIA
DARK CLOCK (tenebrae), musical meditation in unique underground temples in Brno.
This year's dark watch returns to a unifying theme. After the ensemble performance of Zelenka's lamentations and responsories or the responsories of Carlo Gesualdo da Venos, the end of Holy Week will be accompanied by his own chants, but in a completely unusual place and for the first time in a theatrical sense. The recently opened Brno reservoirs on the Yellow Hill are reminiscent of underground temple spaces. In three days, each time in one of the three reservoirs, different stories will be heard and played out in different colorful forms of the Gregorian chant.
Tomáš Kočko & Orchestr
An evening of poetry by the Moravian poet Ladislav Nezdařil set to music.
Lukács Márton Trio

Bad Karma Boy | VDYD
Bad Karma Boy After seven years of waiting, the band Bad Karma Boy has released a new album Noc Na Zemi. In one of the interviews, they once said that the word "path" often appears in their texts. In its own way, it also symbolizes the process of creating the new album, which was created on two continents. Ideas gradually came from rehearsals in Bratislava, at cottages, but also on trips to Portugal and the Croatian islands. All of them eventually materialized into their final form in a magical studio in Costa Rica. VDYD VDYD is an indie post-rock guitar band. Like a boy band of overserving models, they took apart musical instruments and created a concept in which guitar arpeggios and eccentric surface synths roll over a dense rhythmic corpus with a melodic bass. Weaned from the nineties, they sail through the guitar waves of today.

Ballet NdB 2: Serenity / A healthy dose of madness / House of Bernarda Alba
Serenity's choreography will bring the calm power of minimalism to the stage, inviting the audience to quieten down and perceive more deeply. The theme of the choreography builds on the contrast of movement and immobility. The dancers will move at the interface of dynamic movement until the moment of absolute stoppage. These moments of stillness are evoked by living sculptures that create a space for a meditative experience and a pause in a fast-paced world. With this piece, the choreographer Barbora Rašková tries to offer the audience a unique opportunity to slow down and be carried away by the depth of the moment.
