Cheerful is the life of an artist in a mansard in the Latin Quarter. It doesn't matter that it's not for rent, it's snowing outside, and instead of coal, a novel is burning in the stove. Rudolf, Marcello and Collin always manage somehow. But what confuses them is love. Marcello worries about the fickle and capricious Musetta, Rudof and the seamstress Mimi seem to be made for each other, but even here the idyll does not last long. Puccini's La bohème, inspired by the French writer Henri Murger's novel La Vie de bohème and the life of Parisian students and artists in the mid-19th century, became one of the most popular operas, quite rightly. Even though the composer was initially reluctant to set the subject to music, he created a work full of joy and sadness, and the whirlwind of hidden emotions in the music will not leave any of the listeners cold. Thanks to his experience from his studies at the conservatory, when he himself experienced similar situations to his opera companions, Puccini painted an impressive and believable picture of a famous Parisian district populated by diverse characters.
In November 2021, the American writer Noah Gordon died at the age of 95. The most famous is probably the very first volume, the novel in our country known as Ranhojič from 1987 (it was followed by free sequels The Shaman (1992) and The Doctor (1995)). According to Ranhojic, a globally successful German film starring Tom Payne and Ben Kingsley was also shot in 2013.

Do you like flipping through the calendar? Do you ever dream while looking into it and imagine what happened on that day exactly 100, 150, 200... years ago? Do you enjoy anniversaries, preferably round ones, and holidays? We do, and accordingly we have also prepared a cycle of family concerts in the 2024/2025 season. We will remember important anniversaries of premieres of compositions, births of composers, musical events, as well as holidays and so on, which are linked to the respective period in which the concert is taking place. The main dramaturg (the one who chooses the compositions) is therefore time. And you will be a bit of one, too, because we will give you the opportunity to choose one song for each concert - democratically, of course. Come create, listen and have fun with us.

Metallama night vol. 4 - Femmale Fatale
Due to the date (MDŽ), the fourth Metallama night is thematically focused on female vocals. And the vocals are very extreme. Again, we would like to make a cross-section across genres. Performs: Sukkha will show us the black metal ritual. Their dark spontaneity is supported not only by famous female vocals, but also by timpani (behind by none other than Sillenthell - Masters Hammer), which enhances the occult touch. A more modern concept of metal will be presented at the concert by the metalcore/djent band Synopsis from Brno. Singer Kateřina will show that even on our domestic stage there is a female growl aka Jinjer. Another band is Brno melodic death Amorgate. We will stay with death metal, because the line-up is supplemented by coarser grain death metal performed by Bestial Theraphy. Postea will bring excellent variety. Their emotionally charged post HC/crust represents the top of the Czech scene.

WILL VINSON & AARON PARKS
Saxophonist Will Vinson and pianist Aaron Parks have been meeting in various formations for twenty years. Now the time has come for them to try the most intimate and, according to many musicians, the most difficult thing: the format of just a duo. For his needs, they adapted their older warehouse by and supplement the concert program with classic jazz material, which, however, they present with a highly personal, original contribution. The joint chamber performance of such experienced musicians of the middle jazz generation will undoubtedly be a very powerful experience not only from a purely musical point of view, but also in the sense of perfect mutual communication between creators who have been "listening to each other" for a long time.

Playing guitar and foot drums simultaneously, accompanied by his powerful and colorful voice with bluesy harmonica fills makes for a great, live show.

A landowner from Hluboké finds the lifeless body of a man on his way home from the market in Bíteš. He takes it home, and the young foreigner - a Hungarian horse trader - recovers after a while. He falls in love with the landowner's daughter Eliška, but the father does not even want to hear about dowries. The stranger binds Eliška with a promise of loyalty and leaves to sell his estates in Hungary and return with the money for his bride. However, time passes and Luka does not return. Eliška thus succumbs to the insistence of her father and others to marry the miller's son. On the wedding day, Luka returns from Hungary and soon learns about the revelry. Crazy with rage, he swears revenge, which he will eventually carry out together with the gamekeeper Kudla. Together they wait for the wedding procession on the road near Hluboký and end the lives of the wedding guests, including the landowner, Eliška and others. In the end, he takes his mate and himself out of the world. When the other wedding guests catch up, they see a horrible scene. Nine dead bodies. In their memory, nine crosses will be erected at the site of the terrible crime, so that this story of great love and great grudge will never fade from the soil of the Highlands.
