Luboš Pospíšil

27/02/25, 19:30 / Club Leitnerova

Luboš Pospíšil began his musical journey in 1969 in the ranks of the popular C&K Vocal and soon became its most popular member. For reasons of the time, Pospíšil had to wait until 1983 for his first solo record, but it matured like the best wine. LP This wind I liked became a bomb in its time. Pospíšil's characteristic register combined with the poetic texts of the poet Pavel Šrut brought a completely unique style, the singer suddenly stood alongside performers such as Vladimír Mišík. With the new band 5P, whose members included Bohumil Zatloukal (ex-Jasná páka), David Koller and Michal Pavlík (today Čechomor), he sold out halls all over the country in 1982-88. Two more consecutive albums continued the tradition of a successful debut, at the end of the eighties Pospíšil and Koller supported R. Hladík in the temporarily revived Blue Effect.

La bohème

02/03/25, 17:00 / Janáčkovo divadlo (Janáček Theatre)

Cheerful is the life of an artist in a mansard in the Latin Quarter. It doesn't matter that it's not for rent, it's snowing outside, and instead of coal, a novel is burning in the stove. Rudolf, Marcello and Collin always manage somehow. But what confuses them is love. Marcello worries about the fickle and capricious Musetta, Rudof and the seamstress Mimi seem to be made for each other, but even here the idyll does not last long. Puccini's La bohème, inspired by the French writer Henri Murger's novel La Vie de bohème and the life of Parisian students and artists in the mid-19th century, became one of the most popular operas, quite rightly. Even though the composer was initially reluctant to set the subject to music, he created a work full of joy and sadness, and the whirlwind of hidden emotions in the music will not leave any of the listeners cold. Thanks to his experience from his studies at the conservatory, when he himself experienced similar situations to his opera companions, Puccini painted an impressive and believable picture of a famous Parisian district populated by diverse characters.

Do you like flipping through the calendar? Do you ever dream while looking into it and imagine what happened on that day exactly 100, 150, 200... years ago? Do you enjoy anniversaries, preferably round ones, and holidays? We do, and accordingly we have also prepared a cycle of family concerts in the 2024/2025 season. We will remember important anniversaries of premieres of compositions, births of composers, musical events, as well as holidays and so on, which are linked to the respective period in which the concert is taking place. The main dramaturg (the one who chooses the compositions) is therefore time. And you will be a bit of one, too, because we will give you the opportunity to choose one song for each concert - democratically, of course. Come create, listen and have fun with us.

Due to the date (MDŽ), the fourth Metallama night is thematically focused on female vocals. And the vocals are very extreme. Again, we would like to make a cross-section across genres. Performs: Sukkha will show us the black metal ritual. Their dark spontaneity is supported not only by famous female vocals, but also by timpani (behind by none other than Sillenthell - Masters Hammer), which enhances the occult touch. A more modern concept of metal will be presented at the concert by the metalcore/djent band Synopsis from Brno. Singer Kateřina will show that even on our domestic stage there is a female growl aka Jinjer. Another band is Brno melodic death Amorgate. We will stay with death metal, because the line-up is supplemented by coarser grain death metal performed by Bestial Theraphy. Postea will bring excellent variety. Their emotionally charged post HC/crust represents the top of the Czech scene.
