JazzFestBrno: Dianne Reeves
It would probably be enough to say that she is the winner of five Grammy Awards in the field of jazz singing, and nothing would need to be added. A throat certified with so many honors kind of speaks for itself. And he doesn't just speak, he also sings brilliantly.
JazzFestBrno: Kamasi Washington
One of the most iconic personalities of the contemporary jazz scene, personifying its changeability and intertwining with other genres, proving that if something is not current jazz, it is an unexciting soundtrack to the coffee of aunts sitting on spa colonnades.
BIOHAZARD & LIFE OF AGONY / special guests
In 1987, the harsh reality of urban life in New York's Brooklyn gave birth to one of the pioneering and even revolutionary bands that were not afraid to boldly combine the incompatible at the time: hip-hop and hardcore metal. BIOHAZARD, similar to what happened in Prague with Downset, will not come to Brno alone. They teamed up with LIFE OF AGONY, who are also an essential name of the New York music scene of the early 90s!
YOUNG BLOOD or MUSIC CLOSE UP III
The Orchestral Academy of the Brno Philharmonic (OAFB) is a project that enables young talented musicians – students or recent graduates of music schools accepted on the basis of a selection process – to gain orchestral practice in a professional ensemble. In this way, the Philharmonic trains new generations of players who may one day join its ranks. The OAFB has been operating for six seasons and its fruits are already evident: some of its graduates are already members of our orchestra, others regularly return to help out. The importance and value of this experience for the artistic growth of young musicians and for the future of the orchestra is thus indisputable.
Tomáš Toman & Ján Kicko a The Winter Sounds
Tomáš Toman is a singer-songwriter from the Giant Mountains. He will be accompanied on guitar by Ján Kicko from the band Hmlisto.

JazzFestBrno: Jojo Mayer – Me/Machine
Although he was born in Switzerland, which, admittedly, is not exactly a jazz powerhouse, if you don't count the Montreux festival, of course, he had a good family background for music. When he was allowed to play the first children's drum kit at home at the age of two, and he barely had enough time to explore musically, he was already sitting on the drum stool in his father's band, a professional bassist. At eighteen, he got his first professional engagement in the band of Jamaican jazz pianist Monty Alexander, with whom he completed a European tour of major festivals and even managed to accompany such stars as Dizzy Gillespie or Nina Simone on one occasion.
My Fair Lady (from Zelňák)
The famous American musical, which was created based on the well-known theater play Pygmalion by G. B. Shaw. The now classic musical title, which premiered on Broadway in 1956 (a year before Bernstein's famous musical West Side Story, which has been in the repertoire of the City Theater for several years), tells the well-known story of the flower girl Liza Doolittle, who undergoes a transformation into a self-confident young lady… The fact that Líza and her father, the garbage collector Alfréd Doolittle, speak in the original English dialect Cockney, inspired the author of the adaptation and the director Stanislav Moša to transfer the play to the Brno environment and to use the local dialect, the Brno hantec. This is how My Fair Lady was born with the nickname from Zelňák, because the character of Líza moved from the original London market, Covent Garden, to Brno's Zelný trh. It is not just a linguistic innovation, but also a shift to local realities. And so the characters in the introduction are not from the Royal Opera, but from the Reduta, where they did not play Verdi's Aida, but the folk operetta On the Green Meadow...
Jakub König
You may know Jakub König as the singer and author of the songs of the bands Kittchen, Animal Named Autumn or Giant Peach. Australian hard rockers Airbourne are coming to Brno! Known for their uncompromising energy and wild live shows, this four piece band will get your blood pumping with their fifth studio album 'Boneshaker'. The record is a celebration of raw, authentic rock 'n' roll, inspired by the classics of the late 70s - a time when technology wasn't the driving force behind the show, when it was all about energy and authentic spirit and performance; when tape recorders still gave recordings extra warmth and weight, and when perfection was not sought, but compositions that work on an emotional, primal, visceral level, exposing the raw and harsh beauty of the rock'n'roll lifestyle. Turn it up! Leave a mark!

Slanted blanket + guest
We're all about playing bluegrass, especially in G, fast and loud. We do it because we enjoy it - and there are those who claim that it shows in us. The repertoire consists of melodies taken from American bluegrass and newgrass bands, but we also like to play classic country hits or songs from the repertoire of Czech rock and blues musicians. Since our English is not the most refined, and we are closer to a Moravian cellar than to a prairie with blue grass, we use Czech texts by our "court" lyricists Richard Málk, Richard Lukes, Petra Švecová and others for the English songs.

Così fan tutte
Do not test relationships, you risk that your girlfriend devotes her feelings to someone else or Mozart full of eroticism on the stage of the Mahen Theater. The complex relationships between men and women await you through the eyes of the young director Anna Petrželková. That's how they all are, or The School of Lovers, that's the title of the third opera, which was created from the artistic partnership of librettist Lorenzo da Ponte and composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a story about a seemingly harmless bet on female fidelity. But nothing is ever black and white in human relationships, and this is especially true in this opera. Mozart actually followed up on the previous works Don Giovanni and The Marriage of Figaro, which are difficult to put into a precise box - they always give us a mischievous smile in the middle of the drama, and on the contrary, tears and anger are rarely hidden behind the laughter.
After the sold-out Roxy in Prague and Fléda in Brno, he continues with a series of concerts in other Czech and Moravian cities. Fans can also expect upcoming news, special guests and a Meet & Greet opportunity with the band. With her new songs, Vesna proves that she has a place not only on the foreign scene, but is also maturing into one of the most original domestic bands.

SCHUMANN Cello Concerto in A minor op. 129
DMITRIJ SHOSTAKOVIĆ Symphony no. 4 in C minor op. 43 Steven Isserlis cello
Brno Philharmonic
conductor Dennis Russell Davies
Steven Isserlis The legendary British cellist regularly performs concerts with the world's leading symphonic ensembles (Berlin Philharmonic, London Philharmonic, Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, Vienna Philharmonic, Los Angeles Philharmonic, etc.), with chamber orchestras (Scottish, Australian, Zurich, Mahler, and the St Paul Chamber Orchestra) and with ensembles of period instruments (Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra). In classical programs, he often conducts chamber orchestras from solo cello. He premiered a number of new works that were written for him (John Tavener's The Protecting Veil, Thomas Adès's Lieux retrouvés or Wolfgang Rihm's One Movement Concerto), and he is also interested in the learned interpretation of early music.

Strangelove / The DEPECHE MODE Experience
Hailing from the US and the UK, Strangelove – The DEPECHE MODE Experience delivers a perfect concert that takes listeners back in time and touches on several key points in Depeche Mode's 45-year career. Songs from the entire canon of more than fifty Depeche Mode chart-topping hits are lovingly recreated and have the atmosphere and youthful energy of a classic-era DM arena concert. No detail of STRANGELOVE's presentation was left out; and stage decorations and costume changes during the show reflect different eras of Depeche Mode's history. Written and recorded in London and Berlin in 1985 and released in early 1986, Depeche Mode's seminal album Black Celebration is celebrated for its dark, innovative sound and profound influence on the electronic and alternative music scene. The album's rich, alternately atmospheric and industrial tones, along with introspective lyrics, helped define the spirit of the 80s and continue to inspire generations of music lovers.
Her artistic career resembles some "fairytale" biographies. Zuzana Navarová discovered her on the street in 1993, and for three days she sang in the sanctuary of Czech singers, in Prague's Lucern. A few weeks later, she triumphed here as the "opener" of the famous American singer-songwriter Susanne Vega, and six years later she had the same honor at a Mike Oldfield concert. Since then, she has released a number of very successful solo albums that break sales records without any advertising, won several Golden Angels and also scored in the Golden Nightingale poll. Thanks to its uniqueness and original songs, drawing primarily from the Czech tradition, it also attracted audiences abroad, for example in Poland and France. Radůza can accompany herself on several musical instruments, her singing thunders, but she also gently tells touching stories.
