The "Friendship" concert will take place on December 8 at 5:00 p.m. at the Masaryk University Faculty of Arts in Brno (Arna Nováka 1, Brno). The concerts are organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the Czech Republic in cooperation with the Czech Museum of Music and the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University; performances are included in the program of the Year of Czech Music. A pre-Christmas concert from the Chamber Guitar cycle organized by the Czech Guitar Society. Roberta Genna – vocals, guitar, Jakub Zomer – keyboards, piano, Jan Tengler – double bass, Martin Kopřiva – drums Roberta Genna (b. 1992) studied jazz singing at the conservatory in Bologna. She reached the finals of several jazz competitions in Italy, such as Vittoria Jazz Festival, My Way Festival and also won the Pippa Ardini Vocal Award. In 2020, she participated in the TV competition "The Voice of Italy", where she advanced to the top 16. At Chicco Bettinradi's 2021 competition, she placed an excellent second.

The musicians focus on authentic performances of the songs and dances of the Kyiv region, where they were born and where they live. However, their repertoire also includes folk music from other regions, not only Moravia and Bohemia, but also Slovakia, Hungary and well-known jazz standards. Moravians is a folk rock band that was founded in 2021 by singer Vašek Řihák. He plays folk songs in his own special arrangements and original songs from his own workshop. Its founder, Vašek, has been dedicated to folk music almost all his life and has sung in several popular bands of this genre. His dream and goal was to make folk songs even more popular among younger listeners. In the summer of 2021, he approached Eliška Bučková as a singer, who was enthusiastic about this project, and in the fall they already played a few concerts with the band.

Renegatz is a band of four young musicians from Brno, whose work combines the influences of modern and traditional jazz, funk, folk tradition and blues. The line-up consists of Andrej Hrubčo (keyboards), Michal Ondrička (saxophone), Andrej Hudec (bass guitar) and David Kašuba (drums).

Joe George aka JG Shahid is not only an Emmy-nominated film music composer from Chicago, but also a successful singer-songwriter. His songs are indeed rooted in folk, but arranged in a new guise that combines modernity and nostalgia. They cover a wide range of colors, from classic Anglo-American folk and Americana to film compositions.

Django Jet is a project founded 11 years ago by a group of swing and swing dance lovers from Brno. Today, the band's musical focus is mainly on Czech and French swing, the lead singer Marie Gilbert was born in Belgium and her velvety voice enchants you whether you listen to Slunečnica or La vie en rose. In addition to the sung songs, the repertoire is also enriched by instrumental gypsy swing compositions based on the example of the French guitar legend Django Reinhardt and, recently, original compositions by the guitarist Luka Cojhter.

With its program, this year's concert by the string quartet Diversa Quartet continues the years-old initiative of the ensemble operation to realize evenings in memory of all the faithful deceased, i.e. with a soul theme. Although delayed in terms, the dramaturgical concept itself is not strictly liturgical, but rather wreathed in the theme of sadness and commemorative dedications, aiming at a conciliatory catharsis. The title of the concert with three Czech premieres is based on the composition of the same name by Arvo Pärt, which will be heard at the very end of the evening.

The music composer and singer performs together with his accompanying band in a classic rock composition. The audience can look forward to unforgettable songs that were created over the last 40 years mainly in collaboration with Z. Svěrák and which include, for example, songs such as Holubí dům, Ani k starur, Něn ne neto and many others.

The Severští Bardové band focuses on raw medieval melodies from sweat and wholesome dirt, which in ancient times sounded like a lot of fun. The melodic component is created by medieval bagpipes accompanied by a guitar or mandolin, and the jumping rhythm is provided by a wooden drum.

The renowned Brno music group Sajmon & Garfunkers, known for their characteristic funk sound, has gained a significant position on the Brno music scene during their existence. The band is renowned for its energetic live performances and unique approach to the funk genre. The individual members are professional musicians united by true friendship. Their concerts are characterized by a characteristic musical expression and intense interaction with the audience.

The quartet, which was born at JAMU, will play you jazz standards in non-traditional arrangements by keyboardist Andrej Hrubč. Tomáš Spiřík on double bass and Martin Kleibl on drums firmly hold the rhythm. The beauty of the line-up is singer Betty Panzo, who breathes life into classic jazz hits.

An evening in honor of Glenn Miller and His Orchestra, featuring the Original Swingtime Big Band with singer Anita Horn. Glenn Miller and His Orchestra was an American swing dance group founded in 1938 in New York and became the most popular and commercially successful dance orchestra of the swing era.

The founding of the orchestra was preceded by Miller's involvement in other orchestras, where he played as an accompanying trombonist from the twenties. He collaborated with famous jazzmen such as Benny Goodman, Gene Krupa and Tommy Dorsey. In 1942, Miller decided to support the US Army, he began performing with his orchestra in places where the US Army was active. On December 15, 1944, 80 years ago, the plane carrying Glenn Miller disappeared while traveling to see American soldiers, and the musician and conductor was declared missing the day after.
