The new friends balance on the border between ethno, acid jazz and psychedelic rock. Their music is firmly based on the roots of West African traditional rhythms and is complemented by the influences of contemporary world music and the jazz scene. They are characterized by energy, polyrhythms, changes in tempo and beat, but above all by commitment. At the New Friends concert, you can dance or let yourself be carried away by captivating melodies.

"Daily I get calls from bands of various genres who want to play at the Brno Music Marathon. I don't think it would make much sense. We don't have a special stage at the festival where performers can apply directly, and festival dramaturgs usually have other However, this year I made an exception and invited the band Noví kumpáni, who signed up by email, because I had the feeling that they offer what we want for the opening Thursday world music scene in the courtyard of the Old Town Hall - a band from Brno, which is not yet widely known, but can create a great atmosphere. Last year, the band Hazafele succeeded, and I believe that Noví kumpani will pass this test as well."
