Successful theater director and multiple Tony Award winner Ivo van Hove debuts a new and captivating take on Mozart's tragicomedy at the Metropolitan Opera. He set the story of betrayal and curse in a timeless space that gives insight into the dark corners of the story and its characters. Behind the conductor's desk at the Metropolitan Opera awaits the debut of Nathalie Stutzmann, who will be at the disposal of a stellar constellation of male and female singers, led by the charming Don Giovanni performed by baritone Peter Mattei, who will be accompanied by bass-baritone Adam Plachetka's Leporello. Sopranos Federica Lombardi, Ana María Martínez and Ying Fang will be the targets of Giovanni's love passions in the roles of Donna Anna, Donna Elvíra and Zerlina. The soloists will be joined by tenor Ben Bliss as Don Ottavio.
