The main roles in Strauss's operatic comedy will be played by a trio of singing stars. Soprano Lise Davidsen will sing the role of the Marshal for the first time at the Met, while mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard will make her Octavian debut. Erin Morley reprises the character of Sophie, as does bassist Günther Groissböck of Baron Ochs. Sophie's father Faninal will be sung by Markus Brück. In Robert Carsen's production, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra will be led by conductor Simone Young.
